Does Your Diving Gear Include A Compact LED Dive Torch?
In case you are like most diving beginners, you would have ventured into your first diving class armed with only your wet-suit and bravado. It is only after you dive deep that it becomes clear that its all really dark down there (except maybe whenever you encounter glow-in-the-dark fish). Once you get your bearings, you would want to explore the underwater world, for which nothing is more ideal than a compact LED dive torch.
It's an absolute must to carry one of these in case you are going to dive into low-visibility areas or murky water or doing a night dive. Most diving schools have some fun outings like wreck explorations-and if you want to do a Titanic-esque discovery, you might want to carry your flashlight and of course, it would have to be water-proof. Be sure you stock it with full-power batteries. Of course, if you are planning to make diving a regular part of your life, it will make sense to choose rechargeable batteries.
More experienced divers may prefer to let their eyes adjust to the darkness and explore the area in its natural lighting. But, the initial few times, it is highly rewarding to be able to look in dark crevices and see some fish or octopus. So, it is always recommended to at least carry a light source for safety and one as backup.
There are many instances of flashlights slipping away from the diver's grip. So, it is imperative to attach your dive torch in such a way that there is absolutely no chance of losing it. In times of trouble, a flashlight can be used to catch the other divers' attention and even to send a message. However, diving partners or teams must decide upon common signals and hand signs before the dive.
Your diving flashlight would also help you to communicate with other divers. Do decide upon a standard help signal to let the others know when a diver is in trouble. Hand signals can also be used quite effectively but in a dark setting, you may need to shine some light on your hand for the signal to be seen.
Be careful when you switch on lights underwater. Most aquatic life don't mind them but you can't be too sure. It makes sense to learn beforehand in regards to the local species and their response to intrusion. Also, it will be rude to flash a strong beam of light into another diver's, or for that matter, creature's eyes. They might be blinded for some seconds and might panic.
Follow all of the standard diving procedures and instructions. Play it by the rules and your trip is sure to be a huge success! Finally, keep it safe, for yourself and the environment.
Blackberry LED light won't stop flashing blue and green?
Hi, my blackberry torch led light randomly started flashing out of the blue, i have no new texts, emails, bbms - nothing and it wont stop flashing green a couple of times then blue in between every few seconds. It's driving me insane!! Please help!!!
