Purchase A Flashlight For DivingAdventures - Some Common Errors
A bright light with maximum intensity can be a very attractive choice for a diver and it can be suitable for certain situations but when a diver decides to buy a flashlight for diving they should also consider that the brightest light possible doesn't work in certain water conditions. Murky water with many tiny particles floating around may require a diving light which is not as intense in order to avoid lighting up the particles and not the surroundings.
Safe diving practices require divers carry more than one flashlight. Flashlight failure can happen and it is necessary to have at least 2 extra flashlights. These extra lights should be of different strengths so that when the primary light is not effective for the area, the diver has other choices that will be effective.
Rechargeable batteries are a boon to divers, particularly those who might go on extended dive vacations. Rechargeable batteries can eliminate the necessity of packing along extras for replacements or possibly running short in the middle of a trip. The battery should have a life of at least three times the expected length of the dive in order to provide a wide margin of safety and avoid having to call the dive off due to battery failure.
The depth of the dive is also a point to consider when choosing a flashlight for scuba diving. A light can be used for safety, communication or to light up an interesting corner or crevasse while underwater but each type of diving light is rated for a different maximum depth.
Some casual divers may be tempted to purchase the least expensive dive flashlight possible and this can be suitable however they should remember that these lights will usually not be well built as the professional or even serious amateur grade dive lights will be and that they may not stand up as well to normal use.
Since a flashlight is such an essential part of dive safety care should be taken to account for how long the batteries last, how strong the beam needs to be, how much normal wear and tear the light can sustain, and what that the light can withstand the depth of the dive.
While a very inexpensive flashlight for diving can suit the casual diver who rarely ventures down very far, it will have a less intense beam and may well be less durable than a more expensive diving light. It is still important to keep backups of different intensity of beams and to check them regularly.
The casual diver may not need a professional diving or underwater photography light system but they do need to choose a quality light, with a long lasting battery which gives them more battery hours than they might every anticipate needing. They should also consider the ease of recharging a battery as opposed to carrying along a limited supply of fresh batteries.
my dog is scared of flashlight lights, i need to know how to make it less scared???
i need help
Pet the dog and joke around with it, then show it the flash light with a tasty piece of meat on it, let him eat the meat off the flashlight and conquer his unfounded doggy fears
Mobile Charging Choices (MAKE Magazine)
This year's hurricanes, earthquakes, and tornadoes definitely inspired me to
dust off the emergency gear in my basement, such as the battery-powered
lanterns, the shortwave radio, the first aid kit, the dynamo flashlight, and
the like. It also made me realize, after going several days without power, my
online lifeline to world is now my mobile phone (no landline). If it goes, so
goes my ability to communicate. Not good. So I thought it would be a good idea
to discuss here what you use to keep your mobile devices going through a
blackout. Here are a few choices...
