Great Value TT Bike from Vitus Bikes
Ready to take on new challenges; time to expand your horizons; enter the world of triathlon & time trial racing with the new Vitus Chrono!
All new for 2012; we introduce the Vitus Chrono TT bike. A full high-modulus Uni-Directional carbon fibre frame and forks with unlimited potential for the serious athlete, the Vitus Chrono offers true wind cheating attributes that will leave the others in its wake! From the start line of club TT races to T1 in your local triathlon event; the Vitus Chrono is ready for serious competition.
Lightweight High Modulus UD Carbon Frame
Custom-moulded super high-modulus Uni-Directional monocoque carbon fibre frame with wind cheating attributes. Wind tunnel testing has led us to develop our aero tube set and rear wheel cut out for minimal drag and increased aerodynamic performance. Internal cable routing further reduces drag and adds to the aesthetics of the frame. This super stiff frame maximizes rider input by transferring every watt of power to the back wheel without fear of energy sapping flex; the Chrono will cut through the air like a hot knife through butter!
Shimano 105 5700 Groupset
A Shimano 105 5700 groupset takes care of shifting and transmission duties with reliable, precise shifting every time. The 105 creates the driving force at the heart of the transmission and ensures every ounce of energy is transmitted through the oversized bottom bracket area of the frame to the rear wheel.
Braking is highly effective thanks to the dual pivot callipers providing a perfect blend of stopping power and modulation which results in better handling and increased confidence.
Finishing Kit
Vision Team alloy base bars are paired up with Vision Vector clip-on extensions offering a high degree of adjustability; allowing you to tailor your cockpit so you find the most efficient setting when in the aero position.
The wheelset on any bike can transform how the bike handles and performs. The Alex560 wheelset with 50mm deep section rims and aero bladed spokes enhance the aero properties and further reduce aero drag, resulting in reduced rider fatigue over long distances. To complete the wheelset we have added Continental Ultra Race tyres which have a proven track record for performance and reliability in all conditions.
And all this for unbeliable £1899 – WOW!! You won’t find this spec TT bike much cheaper.

Brief History of VITUS BIKES:
Originally steel tubing supplier in 60’s for french bike manufactures likes Gitane or Peguot, Vitus started produce their own frames and later complete bikes in 70’s. Pioneering bonded and lugged aluminum ‘Dural’ tubing constriction.
Probably best known in 80’s for theit Vitus 979 – one of the first mass produced alloy frameset ridden among other by Sean Kelly in many 80’s stage races including the Tour the France. Follow by Vitus 979 Carbone in 1982 – again one of the first lugged composite frames to be used in pro action. Vitus Bikes continue in this accent on performance and dedication to innovate tradition up to this day.
Santa Cruz Syndicate confirm move to Shimano/Fox (Bike Radar)
The Santa Cruz Syndicate downhill team have confirmed they've switched to
Shimano shifting and brakes after eight years with SRAM. They've also revealed
they'll be using Fox Racing Shox suspension.
The squad have released a video and a load of images – which you can check out
in our gallery – from their pre-season testing camp in Imperia, Italy. These
show team members Steve Peat, Greg Minnaar and Josh Bryceland pinning it on
their new full-carbon Santa Cruz V10s.
These are fitted with Fox 40 forks and DHX RC4 shocks, Shimano Saint cranks
and gearing, and XTR brakes. Other kit includes Chris King hubs and headsets,
ENVE Composites cockpit kit and carbon wheels, and Maxxis tyres.
“We were getting everyone up to speed on the new full-carbon frame, Fox
suspension and Shimano components," said Santa Cruz boss Rob Roskopp, via
press release. "With the frame being much lighter than the previous version we
had to dial the suspension in because of less unsprung weight."
He added: "I’ve been riding the new XTR brakes for some time now and can’t get
over how impressive they are, particularly with modulation. Feedback from all
the racers was what I ...
