Dance In Quiet Awe
Picture Siouxsie and the Banshees, Grinderman, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles and The Dixie Chicks all vying for your consideration. Its name is silent disco and it astonishes. It’s all in one venue with many DJ’s and visitors choose who they want to dance to. You determine which DJ gets the bonus of having the most followers.
But have you been told about mobile clubbing? You are now in control of what is playing into your ears. A room or alley full of partiers all on their own beat, wielding their colorful iPod 4G cases with the glowing dotties or white iPod classic case radiating the neon light with a glow! For passersby they only see a group of natives gathered and moving around in peace. As soon as the others get their revisions on facebook and twitter accounts they jump in.
Since 2003 these gatherings have existed. Ben Cummins is credited with birthing these occurrences. The largest party to date was in 2007 when over 4,000 partiers showed up holding their iPod classic cases and other mobile devices and sprang into an instant party blasting all sorts of fun music like Rilo Kiley, Radiohead and Amy Winehouse. The party was busted by the police even with the lack of sound.
Here in Los Angeles there are always these discos happening, and now with the trendy 4G capability and hip iPod 4G cases there is a party just waiting. Maybe someone is trying get a hold of you to meet them for a mobile club at the corner this minute. Wouldn’t that be rad?
If you like to promote a green party, go for it. Hike to the top of a hill under the stars and hold up your 4G iPods and iPod classic cases and party until the light of day. With little preparation all can enjoy such events.
So the next time you and your comrades are bored on a Saturday night have a go at it. It is at no cost to anyone, enjoyable and harmless, but beware, you never know who is playing Black Flag and craves a slam dance.
Project 1t4i's electric Felt machines for 2012 (Bike Radar)
Project 1t4i – formerly known as Skil-Shimano – announced Felt as its bike
sponsor back in September but we now have a first look at actual team bikes
and livery, along with a more complete look at some of the rest of the
equipment the riders will use in 2012 and beyond.
**Light-and-stiff Felt F1s for the road**
Project 1t4i riders will have their choice of Felt's F-Series or AR carbon
machines on the road but at least for now, they're sticking with the former's
tried-and-true formula of light weight and high stiffness.
Given the team's close association with Shimano, it's no surprise that the
Osaka component giant will supply virtually all of the finishing kit,
including a wide range of tubular and clincher wheels for racing and training,
Dura-Ace Di2 electronic transmissions and brakes with SRM power measuring
crank arms, carbon bodied Dura-Ace SPD-SL clipless pedals, and aluminum and
carbon fiber bars, stems, and seatpost from affiliate PRO.
Italian company Elite supplies bottles and cages and compatriots Vittoria are
in the process of equipping the team with an army of tires – including some
